Trading calculators, and the forex calculator you need

Seven free tools, no sign-up, each answering one precise question. This page tells you which, so you do not open the wrong one.

A trading calculator predicts nothing. It runs a division you could do by hand, faster and without a sign error, and that already matters: most position mistakes do not come from bad analysis but from arithmetic done in your head between two candles.

The seven tools below cover three distinct moments. Before entering, you size: position size, risk in account currency, pip value. While the idea is still on paper, you check it is worth taking: risk reward ratio, and the win rate it demands to break even. Afterwards, you measure what you actually got, and that is the journal's work, not a calculator's.

The seven, one by one

Find the exact forex lot size to risk the amount you want, no more, no less. Enter your capital, your percentage risk and your stop loss distance: this fx position size calculator gives you the answer instantly, free and with no sign-up. The same tool doubles as a lot size calculator futures traders can use on contract-based instruments, and as an fx lot size calculator on gold and indices.

Free pip value calculator

Calculate how much a pip is worth, and what an X-pip move means in money based on your position size. Perfect to know what your stop loss risks. Free, forex, gold and indices.

Free winrate calculator

This win rate calculator gives you your win percentage, and above all the threshold it has to beat for your series to make money. Futures contract calculator

This futures calculator tells you how many contracts to take so you never exceed the risk you set, and gives you the tick value and the point value for each contract. MES, MNQ, MGC, ES, NQ, GC, CL: values are preset from the CME specifications. Free, instant, no sign-up, and it doubles as a futures position size calculator on any contract.

R/R ratio and risk reward calculator

This risk reward calculator gives you the ratio between what you aim for and what you risk, and above all the win rate that ratio forces you to hold. Enter your entry, your stop loss and your target. Free, instant, no sign-up, and it works the same on stocks, futures and forex.

What a calculator will never do

  • It does not tell you the trade is good. A 3 to 1 ratio on a zone that fails is still a loss, simply computed cleanly.
  • It does not know your real friction. Commission and spread are paid on every round trip, and they move a strategy's breakeven far more than most traders assume.
  • It does not measure what you got. A calculator works on what you plan; only a journal compares the planned to the executed, on your real orders.

First the calculation, then the measurement

These seven tools size your trades before entry. The Tradoshi journal measures what they became, at the prices actually executed.
