TradingSim review: what this trading sim does, and where a journal takes over
Let us say it before anything else: TradingSim is not a trading journal, it is a day trading simulator. It replays past market sessions so you can practise trading without risking a dollar. The word “journal” does not appear once on their home page or on their plans page, verified by counting on 10 September 2026. The two products overlap in one place only, market replay: our backtesting does it too, and this page says plainly where theirs is better.

Every price on this page is in dollars, on both sides, and no exchange rate is applied. TradingSim only displays monthly prices billed yearly: $33 a month for $396, and $37 a month for $449, the amount exactly as written on their page, even though twelve times 37 makes 444. No monthly price without a yearly commitment is published there. On our side, backtesting is in neither the free plan nor Essential: it starts at Pro, which has a 7-day trial, card required.
On the price of replay alone, there is no gap: $396 a year for their Pro, $399 for ours, and their Premium even costs $50 less than our Premium. There, that budget buys a far more precise simulator. Here, the same subscription buys something else on top of replay: your broker synced, your real trades measured, your discipline scored. So the question is not which one costs less, it is what you need right now.
2. The partner offer, in months of revenue
TradingSim publishes an affiliate program, but its own pages do not give the same figure: “up to 30% per subscription” on the home page, “30% Payout on all sales” in the summary of its affiliate agreement, “33% of the sale” in section 6 of the same agreement. No duration is written down: nothing says whether a yearly renewal earns a commission.
Our schedule is public and pays from the first customer: 15% for life, 20% at fifteen active subscribers, 25% at fifty-one, on every payment collected.
Comparing two percentages means nothing while the durations differ. The honest unit is months of the referred customer's revenue: it neutralises both the product price and the commission duration. Read it as: for a customer who stays N months, the partner has earned the equivalent of X months of that customer's revenue.
| Program | Stays 6 months | Stays 12 months | Stays 24 months | Stays 36 months |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tradoshi 15% (from the 1st customer) | 0.90 | 1.80 | 3.60 | 5.40 |
| Tradoshi 20% (15 customers and up) | 1.20 | 2.40 | 4.80 | 7.20 |
| Tradoshi 25% (51 customers and up) | 1.50 | 3.00 | 6.00 | 9.00 |
The table only holds our rows, and that is not an oversight: a schedule whose rate changes from one page to the next and whose duration is not written down cannot be computed in months of revenue. If TradingSim clarifies its terms, this page will be updated with the survey date.
On our side, the commission lands on every payment collected, with a 30-day holding period and a €500 payout threshold.
3. Mentoring, and who pays for whom
TradingSim highlights the educators who use it to teach, with a whole section of expert testimonials on its home page. But no mentoring feature appears on its pages: no student invitation, no shared space, no way for a supervisor to follow a trader.
At Tradoshi, the mentor account is free. The student is the subscriber, from the Pro plan up, and invites their mentor, who pays nothing to follow their trades and progress.
For an educator, the two tools follow each other rather than compete: the student practises on the simulator, then goes live on Tradoshi, where their mentor follows them without paying. Nothing TradingSim publishes lets the supervisor see what the student does in the simulator.

4. The full comparison, feature by feature
Every line comes from both public pricing pages, read on the same day. Nothing is pulled from a help centre on one side and a grid on the other: on unequal evidence, a comparison stops being honest. “Absent from the grid” means exactly that, not “does not exist”.
Market replay, the only common ground
This is the only family where both products do the same thing, and it leans clearly their way. Their replay is for practising execution, ours for validating a strategy: the first needs precision, the second needs realistic costs.
| What is compared | TradingSim | Tradoshi |
|---|---|---|
| Market replay | Full sessions, pre and post-market included | Candle by candle, future hidden |
| Data granularity | Tick and second (Premium) | Minute, aggregated to your timeframe |
| Level 2 and Time & Sales | Yes, block trades and dark pools highlighted, Level 2 on Premium | No |
| Several synced symbols | Yes, several charts and timeframes | One market per session |
| Simulated orders | Market, limit, stop, OCO, OTO, hotkeys | Stop loss, take profit, break-even, partial exits |
| Market scanner | Yes: pre-market volume, float, gap, short interest | No |
| Simulated execution costs | Not mentioned on their pages | Spread, slippage, commission, swap |
| Tracking a strategy over time | Bookmarks sorted by strategy | Sessions attached to a strategy, with profit factor |
| Today's session | On a 15-minute delay (Premium) | No, history only |
After the trade: a journal's job
This is where TradingSim stops. Their analytics cover the trades placed in the simulator, and no broker is named on their home or plans page: your live trades do not go in. They do not claim otherwise.
| What is compared | TradingSim | Tradoshi |
|---|---|---|
| Simulated trade statistics | Yes: P&L, win/loss ratio, efficiency | Yes, with the journal's formulas |
| Your live trades, synced | Absent from their pages | Yes, 2,000+ brokers |
| Reports on your live trades | Absent from their pages | 500+ reports, Oshi Score |
| Pre-session voice check-in | Absent from their pages | Yes, from Essential |
| Discipline score | Absent from their pages | From the free plan |
| AI coach on your data | Absent from their pages | Oshi, from Essential |
| Mentor account | Absent from their pages | Free |

5. What we concede to TradingSim
A comparison won on every single line is not a comparison, it is an advert. Here are the points where TradingSim is ahead, with nothing taken off.
The verdict
TradingSim and Tradoshi do not replace each other, they come one after the other. TradingSim answers “can I execute this setup?”, in a precise simulator, on real sessions, without risking money, and on US stocks it does it better than we do. Tradoshi answers “what do I actually do when the money is real?”: what are my losing streaks, what state was I in, do I stick to my rules. If you are starting out on US stocks, begin with the simulator. If you already trade live, the journal is what you are missing, and our backtesting, from Pro, lets you validate a strategy with real execution costs.
Frequently asked questions
Is TradingSim a trading journal?
No. It is a day trading simulator: it replays past market sessions so you can practise without risk. The word “journal” does not appear once on their home page or on their plans page, verified by counting on 10 September 2026. Its statistics cover the trades placed in the simulator, not your live trades: no broker is mentioned on those pages.
How much does TradingSim cost?
Two plans, displayed on 10 September 2026 as monthly prices billed yearly: Pro at $33 a month, that is $396 a year, and Premium at $37 a month, billed $449 a year. Both come with a 7-day trial. No monthly price without a yearly commitment and no free plan are published on their site.
Does Tradoshi do market replay too?
Yes, it is the only common ground. Tradoshi's backtesting replays the market candle by candle with the future hidden, on minute-level historical data, with spread, slippage, commission and swap. It is included from the Pro plan, with 10 strategies, and unlimited on Premium; it is in neither the free plan nor Essential. It is less precise than TradingSim's: no tick data, no Level 2, no Time & Sales.
Do you have to choose between TradingSim and Tradoshi?
No, they do different jobs. TradingSim is for practising before you risk money, Tradoshi measures what you do once you trade live. Many traders go through both: the simulator to learn the move, the journal to check that it holds against the real market.
Does TradingSim cover forex?
Not spot forex. Their home page lists US stocks, futures, including currency contracts, and crypto; the word “forex” does not appear there. Tradoshi syncs your account from your broker, forex included, and its backtesting replays the market on minute-level historical data.
What does TradingSim do better than Tradoshi?
Five things. Tick and second level replay on Premium, where ours starts from minute data. Level 2 and Time & Sales replayed. More than 10,000 US stocks with a pre-market scanner. A complete day trading desk, with several synced symbols, hotkeys and OCO and OTO orders. A yearly price for replay that is equal to or lower than ours.
Does TradingSim's affiliate program pay 30%?
Their own pages do not say the same thing: “up to 30% per subscription” on the home page, “30% Payout on all sales” in the summary of their affiliate agreement, “33% of the sale” in section 6 of the same agreement. No duration is written there, so nothing says whether renewals earn a commission. The Tradoshi program pays 15% for life from the first customer, then 20% at fifteen customers and 25% at fifty-one.
