Comparison

Tradoshi vs JournalPlus

JournalPlus is the closest competitor to us on substance: it does not sell statistics, it sells discipline. « Become the disciplined trader you want to be » is written on their home page, and they track emotions before and after every trade. Two things separate them radically from us, and they should be stated straight away: they cost $159 once, for life, and they chose NOT to sync your broker. They win the first point. The second is what this page is about.

Pick Tradoshi ifyou want your journal to fill itself, and above all to be able to tell you something during the session. With no broker connection, no tool can step in before you click.
Pick JournalPlus ifyou want to pay once and never think about it again, and manually exporting a file from your broker does not bother you. On total cost, nobody in this series does better.
What to checkwhat your journal becomes on the days you do not feel like exporting a file. A manual journal survives three weeks; the question is what it looks like in month two.

Every price on this page is in dollars, on both sides, and no exchange rate is applied. JournalPlus also displays its pricing in rupees (₹6,599), a sign of a product aimed first at the Indian market.

Let us do the arithmetic out loud, it does not favour us. $159 once is already less than our $199 first year, and the gap only widens: after three years they are at $159 and we are at $597. With their JP15 code, it is $135. We will not pretend that is a detail. What a subscription pays for, on our side, is what costs money every month: continuously polling your broker and the AI compute. Software sold once cannot carry an expense that recurs every month. That is precisely why they do not sync.

2. The partner offer, in months of revenue

JournalPlus publishes no affiliate program: no dedicated page, no rate, no threshold. The usual URLs (/affiliate, /affiliates, /partners) all return 404 as of 2 August 2026, and no such link appears on their home page.

Our schedule is public and pays from the first customer: 15% for life on every payment collected, 20% at fifteen active subscribers, 25% at fifty-one.

Comparing two percentages means nothing while the durations differ. The honest unit is months of the referred customer's revenue: it neutralises both the product price and the commission duration. Read it as: for a customer who stays N months, the partner has earned the equivalent of X months of that customer's revenue.

ProgramStays 6 monthsStays 12 monthsStays 24 monthsStays 36 months
Tradoshi 15% (from the 1st customer)0.901.803.605.40
Tradoshi 20% (15 customers and up)1.202.404.807.20
Tradoshi 25% (51 customers and up)1.503.006.009.00

The table only holds our rows, for lack of a published competing schedule. It reads in months of the referred customer's revenue.

The real difference for a partner is not the rate, it is the structure, and it fits in one sentence: a product sold once can only pay once. Whatever their percentage, it applies to $159, once, and that is the end of it. On our side, 15% of a $199 annual subscription is $29.85 every year, for as long as the person stays subscribed. A partner sending the same trader has passed them within the first year, and the gap then widens on its own.

On our side, the commission lands on every payment collected, with a 30-day holding period and a €500 payout threshold.

3. Mentoring, and who pays for whom

Mentoring appears nowhere on JournalPlus's grid: no dedicated row, no student invitation, no shared space. The product is built for a solo trader facing their statistics.

At Tradoshi, the mentor account is free. The student is the subscriber, from the Pro plan up, and invites their mentor, who pays nothing to follow their trades and progress.

For a trader working alone this line is worth nothing, and that should be said. For a school or an educator it decides everything: following thirty students costs nothing extra, where elsewhere it would take one subscription per supervisor.

4. The full comparison, feature by feature

Every line comes from both public pricing pages, read on the same day. Nothing is pulled from a help centre on one side and a grid on the other: on unequal evidence, a comparison stops being honest. “Absent from the grid” means exactly that, not “does not exist”.

Price, and it must be said first

Syncing, and why it decides everything else

JournalPlus has a whole page titled « Why we don't do auto-sync », with four serious arguments: your credentials never leave you, a CSV file works with any broker in the world, it never breaks when an API changes, and you decide what you import. Those arguments are good. They have one consequence, and that is what matters.

Psychology: their turf too, and precision matters

This is the only competitor in this series whose pitch matches ours. Writing that they do no psychology would be false: they log emotion before and after the trade, keep a pre-trade checklist and display a rule compliance rate. The difference is not there.

5. What we concede to JournalPlus

A comparison won on every single line is not a comparison, it is an advert. Here are the points where JournalPlus is ahead, with nothing taken off.

$159 once is cheaper than us from the very first yearAnd the gap then widens indefinitely: $159 against $597 over three years, $135 with their JP15 code. On total cost of ownership no angle saves us, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.
Their refusal to sync is a real argument, not an excuseYour credentials never leave your broker, a CSV file works with any platform in the world without waiting for someone to « add support », and it will never break because an API changed. We depend on connections that can go down.
They do psychology, and they do it wellThis is the only one in the series where that is not an empty column. Emotion before and after the trade, a pre-trade checklist, a rule compliance rate, a plain-language AI assistant. In principle they are on our turf.
They display 4.9/5 across 1,287 reviews, we are starting outWe could not cross-check that number at the source, so we do not present it as verified. But our own review history is empty, and that is not up for debate.
For an Indian trader they are better placed than usTheir pricing is displayed in rupees and their import page lists Zerodha, Groww, Upstox, Angel One, Dhan and Fyers ahead of everyone else. We do not cover that market with the same care.

The verdict

With no connection to your broker, nothing can speak to you during the session. That is a direct consequence of their own choice, not a cheap shot: their assistant analyses a file you exported yourself, so it always arrives afterwards. That said, JournalPlus is a good product, run by people who talk about discipline rather than curves, and at $159 for life nobody in this series comes close. What we sell on top is not one more box in a table, it is a consequence of their own choice: with no connection to your broker, nothing can speak to you during the session. Their assistant analyses a file you exported yourself, so it always arrives afterwards. Ours sees the open position and the risk taken, and can tell you that you have just broken your 2% rule while the trade is still open. If your problem is understanding what happened, their tool is enough and costs three times less. If your problem is stopping in time, a file imported in the evening has never solved it.

Frequently asked questions

Which one is cheaper?

JournalPlus, by a wide margin. They ask $159 once, for life, against $199 a year for our annual Essential plan. So they are already cheaper in the first year, and over three years the gap is $159 against $597. Their JP15 code brings the price down to $135.

Does JournalPlus connect to my broker?

No, and it is a stated choice. They have a whole page titled « Why we don't do auto-sync ». Everything goes through a CSV export from your broker, which you then upload. They list 33 brokers plus « 200 more », but that is file compatibility, not a connection. Tradoshi syncs more than 2,000 brokers, 98 of them on a direct API, and publishes the list of 2,024 names with a proof PDF.

Careful, their site contradicts itself on this point

Their integrations page says « we never ask for your broker login credentials or API keys », while the FAQ on their features page says « we use secure OAuth connections » and their home page states « JournalPlus auto-imports trades ». All three wordings were read on 2 August 2026. We will not settle it for them: if this matters to you, ask them before buying.

What does Tradoshi do that JournalPlus does not?

Automatic broker syncing, and everything that follows from it: in-session guardrails, risk tracking on an open position. Then the voice check-in, the free mentor account, backtesting, prop firm rule tracking, and French.

What does JournalPlus do better than Tradoshi?

Price, with no argument: $159 for life against a subscription. A free demo account to tour the product without a card. An import that works with any broker in the world without waiting for support to be added. And a review history where we are starting out.

Do they really do psychology tracking?

Yes, and that should be said plainly rather than implying an empty column. They log emotion before and after every trade, offer a pre-trade checklist with a compliance rate, and an AI assistant you query in plain language. What we add is the voice check-in, and the alert at the moment the rule breaks rather than when you re-read your file.

Method and sources. Every figure attributed to JournalPlus was read on 2 August 2026 on its own public pages, in the served HTML, and not taken from a third-party comparison: journalplus.co/ · journalplus.co/features/ · journalplus.co/integrations/. The “absent from the grid” statements were obtained by counting term occurrences in the served page, not by eye. The months-of-revenue values are computed from the published schedules on both sides, month by month, not typed by hand. A publisher's pricing changes without notice, and this one raised all three of its plans overnight on 16 July 2026: when in doubt, the publisher's own page prevails over this one.
