StonkJournal review: the free plan, the $10 Pro, and where Tradoshi differs

Stonk Journal and Tradoshi made the same bet: a trading journal that is genuinely free, with no credit card and no trade cap. They did not build it the same way. At Stonk Journal the free plan is filled by hand, and both file import and the AI coach cost $10 per month. At Tradoshi the free plan syncs a broker account and imports your statements without limit, but AI starts at $19.99. Sourced on 10 September 2026 from their public pages.

Pick Tradoshi ifyou no longer want to copy your trades: your broker syncs from the free plan, your statements import without limit, and later you want a voice check-in, backtesting and a mentor who follows you for free.
Pick Stonk Journal ifyou trade US stocks and options, you enter your trades by hand anyway, and you want unlimited accounts and multi-leg options detected on their own, without paying anything. Their $10 Pro costs half as much as our first paid plan.
What they sharetwo genuinely free journals, with no credit card and no trade cap. The difference is not the entry price, it is how your trades get into the journal.

Every price on this page is in dollars, on both sides, and no exchange rate is applied. Our dollar prices are not converted, they are those of our English version. Stonk Journal has no separate pricing page: the /pricing address returns a 404 error on 10 September 2026, and both plans are shown on their home page. No annual price appears there, and their terms leave the billing interval to the moment of purchase.

The real gap between these two free plans is not a feature, it is a gesture: at Stonk Journal, every trade on the free plan is typed by hand, and file import comes with Pro. With us, the free plan connects a broker account and imports your statements without limit. On the other side, their $10 Pro gives an AI coach for half the price of our first paid plan, and that deserves credit.

2. The partner offer, in months of revenue

No affiliate program appears on Stonk Journal's site as of 10 September 2026: no footer link, no mention on their home page, no clause in their terms. A creator who wants to recommend it has no published commission to expect.

Our schedule is public and pays from the first customer: 15% for life, 20% at fifteen active subscribers, 25% at fifty-one, on every payment collected.

Comparing two percentages means nothing while the durations differ. The honest unit is months of the referred customer's revenue: it neutralises both the product price and the commission duration. Read it as: for a customer who stays N months, the partner has earned the equivalent of X months of that customer's revenue.

ProgramStays 6 monthsStays 12 monthsStays 24 monthsStays 36 months
Tradoshi 15% (from the 1st customer)0.901.803.605.40
Tradoshi 20% (15 customers and up)1.202.404.807.20
Tradoshi 25% (51 customers and up)1.503.006.009.00

The table only holds our rows, and that is not an oversight: you do not compute what a competitor does not publish. If Stonk Journal opens a program with a readable schedule, this page will be updated with the survey date.

To be honest with a creator: a free journal is easy to recommend, precisely because it costs nothing to whoever tries it, and so is ours. What can be stated is only this: there, no commission is published; here, it is, and it runs for life.

On our side, the commission lands on every payment collected, with a 30-day holding period and a €500 payout threshold.

3. Mentoring, and who pays for whom

Stonk Journal has neither a mentor account nor a student invitation on its grid. It has better than nothing: public share links, opt-in and revocable, that let you show your journal to someone. Nothing on their grid, however, describes a space where a mentor would find their students.

At Tradoshi, the mentor account is free. The student is the subscriber, from the Pro plan up, and invites their mentor, who follows their trades and progress without paying anything.

For a solo trader their share links are probably enough, and they are free. For a school or an educator following thirty students, the question is no longer showing a journal but finding them all in one place: that is what our mentor account does, and it costs the educator nothing.

4. The full comparison, feature by feature

Every line comes from both public pricing pages, read on the same day. Nothing is pulled from a help centre on one side and a grid on the other: on unequal evidence, a comparison stops being honest. “Absent from the grid” means exactly that, not “does not exist”.

Getting your trades in

The core of the gap between these two free plans. Stonk Journal bets on fast manual entry and charges for import; we give sync and import from the free plan.

5. What we concede to Stonk Journal

A comparison won on every single line is not a comparison, it is an advert. Here are the points where Stonk Journal is ahead, with nothing taken off.

Their paid plan costs half as much$10 per month for the AI coach, AI chat and file import, against $19.99 for our first paid plan. No counter is published on their coach, where our AI is metered in credits.
Unlimited accounts on the free planLive account, paper account, prop firm, personal account: no cap there without paying. Our free plan gives one, the second starts at Essential.
Multi-leg options, detected on their ownVerticals, condors, butterflies and calendar spreads are detected automatically from the free plan, with contract multipliers. We do not journal options, and a US options trader is better served there.
Robinhood and Webull, on importStonk Journal names Robinhood and Webull on its import page; neither is on our broker list. We import E*TRADE, Fidelity and Interactive Brokers, but without their options: for a US stocks and options account, their import is built for that case, ours is not.
Their risk rules are on the free planTen rule types and a weighted compliance score, without paying, and prop firm accounts too. Our discipline score starts at Essential, and prop firm challenge tracking at Pro.
They work offlineTheir web app installs on phone and desktop alike, works without a network and resyncs afterwards. Our app is published on Android only, and we do not announce an offline mode.

The verdict

Two free journals, two ideas of a trader's work. Stonk Journal bets that you will enter your trades yourself, quickly, and gives you unlimited accounts, multi-leg options and risk rules for nothing; it charges $10 for import and AI. Tradoshi bets that you will not keep doing it for long: your broker syncs from the free plan, your statements import without limit, and the paid plans cover what happens before and during the session, voice check-in, guardrails, backtesting, mentor. If you trade US options and data entry costs you nothing, Stonk Journal is a very good choice. If you trade forex, CFDs or futures and have already given up on a journal because everything had to be copied, start with our free plan.

Frequently asked questions

Is Stonk Journal really free?

Yes. Their free plan, sourced on 10 September 2026, gives unlimited trades and accounts, with no trial and no credit card. But it is filled by hand: file import and the AI coach are on the Pro plan, at $10 per month. Tradoshi also has a permanent free plan with no card, which syncs a broker account and imports your statements without limit.

Does Stonk Journal import trades from my broker?

By file only, and from the Pro plan. Their import page says so itself: it is not continuous synchronisation, and broker sync is announced on their roadmap. The brokers named are Schwab, Fidelity, E*TRADE, Webull, Robinhood and Interactive Brokers. At Tradoshi, one account syncs from the free plan, among more than 2,000 brokers.

Which one is cheaper?

Both are free at entry. At the first paid tier, Stonk Journal costs half as much: $10 per month against $19.99. Their site publishes no annual pricing; ours charges ten months out of twelve, $16.58 per month, which is not enough to close the gap.

Does Stonk Journal have artificial intelligence?

Yes: an AI coach that spots costly behaviour in your history, and a chat that queries your journal in plain language, both on the $10 Pro plan. No emotional check-in, written or voice, appears on their grid; at Tradoshi, the voice check-in works from Essential.

Does Stonk Journal do backtesting?

Nothing of the kind appears on their home page or their grid as of 10 September 2026. Tradoshi offers backtesting by replaying the market candle by candle, with the future hidden and orders simulated with real execution costs, from the Pro plan with ten strategies, then unlimited on Premium.

Does Stonk Journal have a mobile app?

It is an installable web app, designed to work offline, on phone and desktop alike. Tradoshi has an Android app published on Google Play; on iPhone it is not published, and the site opens from the browser.

What does Stonk Journal do better than Tradoshi?

Six things. Its paid plan costs half as much. Its free plan gives unlimited accounts. It detects multi-leg options on its own. Its import names Robinhood and Webull, which are not on our list. Its risk rules are on the free plan. It also works offline.

The “absent from the grid” statements were obtained by counting term occurrences in the served page, not by eye. The months-of-revenue values are computed from the published schedules on both sides, month by month, not typed by hand. A publisher's pricing can change without notice, sometimes overnight: when in doubt, the Stonk Journal page prevails over this one.
