Plan followed

This is the percentage of your trades marked as matching your written plan: the setup was the one planned, the size was the one planned, the time was inside your window. A trade can be a winner and off-plan; it then counts as off-plan.

The formula

Share of your trades marked as matching your plan.

How to read it

How often you follow your own rules. The metric no one else measures, and the best predictor of an account's survival.

Compare the expectancy of your in-plan trades to your off-plan ones. In almost every journal the gap is massive and settles the debate without argument: it is not markets that cost you, it is the trades the plan did not allow. It is the most convincing figure a journal can produce.

The classic mistake

Not having a plan precise enough for the question to have an answer. "I take good setups" is not a plan: a plan is a list of verifiable conditions, otherwise every trade is compliant in hindsight and the figure reads 100% while measuring nothing.
